MOSCOW, June 5 (RIA Novosti) - Comstar United TeleSystems [RTS: CMST] said on Thursday its US GAAP net income grew 24%, year-on-year, in the first quarter to $54.1 million.
Comstar UTS, the largest multi-service communications operator in Moscow and the Moscow Region, which operates in several Russian regions and former Soviet republics, said its earnings increased 27% in the reporting period to $417 million and profit from operations was up 31% to $121.3 million.
The company's main shareholder is AFK Sistema, which holds a 51% stake.
