OGK-3 IFRS 2007 net profit up 53% to 6.7 billion rubles

MOSCOW, June 6 (RIA Novosti) - OGK-3's net profit in 2007 calculated to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) grew 53% to 6.7 billion rubles ($281.4 mln), the Russian wholesale power generating company said Friday.

OGK-3's earnings in 2007 grew 44.7% to 33.386 billion rubles ($1.4 billion).

In April OGK-3 said its net profit in 2007 calculated to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) increased 170%, year on year, to 2.3 billion rubles ($96.6 million).

OGK-3 operates six electric power plants with a total capacity of 8,500 MW, whose share in national generation exceeds 5%.

Metals giant Norilsk Nickel holds a 65.15% stake in OGK-3, while the electricity monopoly Unified Energy System holds 26.02% of the company's shares.
