MOSCOW, August 13 (RIA Novosti) - Rail monopoly Russian Railways (RZD) said on Wednesday it would set up a grain transportation subsidiary with a capital of over 7.5 billion rubles ($310 million).

The new company, Rusagrotrans, will provide services to transport grain in RZD railway cars, and will also handle the acceptance of grain deliveries and their loading for shipment, RZD said.

"Rusagrotrans will be established to provide for the effective railway transportation of grain cargoes, with the purpose of fulfilling the Russian government's plans for ensuring the country's food security," RZD said in a statement.
