MOSCOW, August 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russian oil company Surgutneftegaz said Thursday its net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards increased 80% year-on-year in January-June 2008 to 72.66 billion rubles ($2.9 billion).
Surgutneftegaz, which accounts for 13% of Russia's total crude production, said its revenues in the reporting period grew 9.5% to 321.35 billion rubles ($13.2 billion), gross profit climbed 70% to 124.16 billion rubles ($5 billion), operating profit increased 90% to 106.59 billion rubles ($4.4 billion) and pre-tax profit was up 80% to 97.2 billion rubles ($4 billion).
The oil company is based in the Tyumen Region in Western Siberia, and has authorized capital of 43 billion rubles ($1.7 billion).
