Inflation in Russia in 2008 is likely to exceed the Central Bank's official forecast of 11% and approach 15%, the bank's first deputy chairman said on Saturday.
MOSCOW, September 20 (RIA Novosti) - Inflation in Russia in 2008 is likely to exceed the Central Bank's official forecast of 11% and approach 15%, the bank's first deputy chairman said on Saturday.

"Given the accumulated inflation of 10%, the [official] forecast is highly unrealistic," Alexei Ulyukayev told the Ekho Moskvy radio station adding that inflation will hit below 15%.

The Central Bank chief, Sergei Ignatyev, said on Wednesday that Russia's inflation in 2008 will be only slightly higher than the 11% forecast, at around 12%, despite the ongoing world financial crisis.
