Russian monetary base down $650.3 mln in week to $169 bln

MOSCOW, October 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Central Bank said Friday the country's narrowly defined money supply (M1) was 4 trillion 416.8 million rubles ($169 billion at the current exchange rate) as of October 6, down 17 billion rubles ($650.3 million) in the week since September 29.

According to the Bank, M1 money supply consists of the currency issued by the bank, including cash in vaults of credit institutions, and required reserves balances on ruble deposits with the Central Bank.
