Russian oil firm Rosneft posts 130% net profit rise in Jan.-Sept.
18:19 28/10/2008
MOSCOW, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - Russian state-controlled crude producer Rosneft said on Tuesday its net profit under Russian Accounting Standards increased 130%, year-on-year, in January-September to 206.36 billion rubles ($7.6 billion).
At the same time, Rosneft's net profit declined 33%, quarter-on-quarter, in July-September to 45.11 billion rubles ($1.7 billion), the company said in a statement.
The crude producer attributed its third-quarter net profit decline to falling oil and petroleum product prices on world markets, the strength of the U.S. dollar and increased customs duties.
In 2007, Rosneft boosted oil output 25% year-on-year to 100.9 million metric tons (739 million barrels).
