The joint venture, Laptechno-Power, will build and operate power facilities in seven African countries - Libya, Uganda, Ghana, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen and Namibia, Technopromexport said in a statement.
The construction of electric power facilities will be financed by Libya African Investment Portfolio, which will manage $6.73 billion in funds to implement investment projects in the seven countries, the company said.
"Top priority projects for Laptechno-Power will be the construction of a 1,250-km [777-mile] electric transmission line with a capacity of 400 kW in Libya and a 300 MW hydro power plant on the Blue Nile River in Uganda," a Technopromexport spokesman said.
Technopromexport builds hydroelectric, thermal, geothermal and diesel power plants, and power transmission lines in 50 countries.
