SAMARA, February 9 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's leading carmaker AvtoVAZ on Monday restarted its production lines, which were halted on Friday over problems with suppliers, the plant's spokesperson said.
"The assembly line has started to work normally. The working shift began at 7 a.m. local time [3:00 GMT]. Negotiations with suppliers of auto parts have been completed," the spokesperson said.
Problems with supplies emerged after the car manufacturer introduced a new payment scheme, paying money for only 30% of supplied components and using promissory notes from its own and affiliated banks to pay for up to 70% of deliveries.
