Ukraine is ready to swap assets with Russia so that the two countries could jointly extract oil and gas, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in Istanbul on Tuesday.
"We could swap some assets with Russia to cooperate, so that we extract oil and gas in Russia," Yanukovych said.
He also asked Putin to help with getting loans from Russian banks to complete construction of two new blocks at a nuclear power station.
"We would like to get construction loans with the help of Russian banks," Yanukovych said.
