Sheremetyevo, Russia's largest international airport based in Moscow, plans to sell 75% minus one share in its Sheremetyevo refueling complex held together with Russia's largest airline Aeroflot, it said in a statement on Monday.
"As part of the proposal, Sheremetyevo plans to sell 44 percent minus one share in the Sheremetyevo refueling complex and Aeroflot intends to sell its stake in the company fully," the company said, adding it currently owned 69% of the refueling complex's charter capital while Aeroflot held 31% of the complex's shares.
The main requirements for the prospective buyers of the Sheremetyevo refueling complex are to provide competitive services and timely guarantee the delivery of aviation fuel in a volume necessary for the uninterrupted operation of Sheremetyevo Airport, the statement said.
Russian business daily Kommersant earlier quoted Sheremetyevo CEO Mikhail Vasilenko that the airport intended to sell the complex to oil companies because it was more profitable to buy fuel directly from them, adding the deal would amount to about 1.5 billion rubles ($48.69 million). Aeroflot told the paper the refueling complex was a non-core asset for the airline.
