Russia could overcome the financial crisis by 2012, a top government official said Saturday.
"Our previous assessments regarding the crisis are proving to be correct. We proceed from the fact that we will come out of the recession by 2012 or in 2012," First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov told the Vesti v Subbotu TV program.
He added that this would mean returning to economic growth figures that preceded the financial crisis.
