Five people were shot dead and five more wounded after an identified suspect opened gun fire on spectators during an amateur football match in the Colombian town of Medellin, Univision TV channel reported.

According to police reports, the suspected used a pistol in the attack killing two underage spectators among others.

The shooting could be a result of a fight between the local criminal groups, which compete for taking charge of various districts in the city and drug trafficking, the police added.
