MOSCOW, November 6 (RIA Novosti) - A toy balloon is believed to have caused the death of a baby in St. Petersburg, the local department of the Russian Investigative Committee reported on Tuesday.
The balloon was tied to the crib of the girl, born in 2012. Its ribbon is believed to have coiled around the girl’s neck due to a draft and caused her to suffocate.
The baby's body was found on November 3, 2012 in the northwestern Russian city. The department has launched criminal proceedings into suspected manslaughter.
An investigation is underway.
