MOSCOW, May 13 (RIA Novosti) - Nineteen people were injured in a shooting in New Orleans, the US state of Louisiana, on Sunday, American media reported.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Frenchmen and North Villere Streets during a Mother's Day second-line parade, the Fox 8 TV station quoted police as saying. As of Sunday evening, there were no fatalities.
The youngest victim, a girl aged 10, suffered a graze wound, like many of the victims did by ricocheting bullets, police said. Most gunshot wounds were non-life threatening.
Some 300 people were attending the parade when shots were fired. Police are looking for three suspects.
AP cited the FBI as saying the shooting was not linked to terrorism but appeared to be “street violence.”
