MOSCOW, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - The last living daughter of Feodor Chaliapin, Russia's most famous opera singer of the 20th century, has died in Rome at the age of 98, a spokeswoman for a Moscow museum said on Tuesday.

"The last child of great Russian bass singer Feodor Chaliapin - daughter Marina Feodorovna - died at her house in Rome tonight," said Yelena Davydova, a spokeswoman for the Glinka Museum of Musical Culture in Moscow.

Her funeral will take place at the Laurentino Cemetery in Rome on Wednesday.

Marina Chaliapin, crowned Miss Russia in 1931, was the wife of a former Italian culture official Luigi Freddi. During her life she worked as a ballet dancer in Russia, a designer, architect and an officer in the Italian Fleet.

She visited Russia in 1984 for the reburial of Chaliapin's remains at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.

The Chaliapin family left Russia in 1922 and the great singer died in Paris in 1938.
