The Crimean city of Sevastopol on Sunday commemorated those 4,200 Crimean Jews and an residents of the Crimean Peninsula slaughtered by the Nazi German in 1942, Ukraine's Unian news agency said.

The rally-requiem was opened by a sad Jewish melody and continued with a pray by Sevastopol's Chief Rabbi Benyamin Volf.

Representatives of local social and cultural organizations participated in the ceremony.

The Nazis gathered together Jews and other city residents at a Sevastopol's stadium in July 1942 and told them they would be taken out of the city for agricultural work. However, Nazis shot down all these people.

The slaughter occurred on July 12. The next days Nazis searched out for other Jews who ducked for cover.
