MOSCOW, June 29 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow was not worried about a short delay to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's flight from Amsterdam to Yemen, a ministry source said.
Lavrov's flight was delayed for an hour yesterday night. The ministry said the delay was due to the measures the Dutch security services had taken to ensure the Russian delegation's security.
According to an official accompanying Lavrov, the Dutch authorities had said unknown people had tried to break into the minister's plane in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Russian delegation said this was impossible, as the plane had been guarded round the clock. The Dutch then offered a new version: certain figures in black masks had shown a heightened interest in the minister's plane.
The authorities suggested examining the plane, but the Russian officials rejected the idea.
Lavrov took the delay in good humor when he was told.
