VLADIVOSTOK, June 30 (RIA Novosti, Anatoly Ilyukhov) - U.S. Navy warships will visit the main port of the Russian Pacific Fleet in Vladivostok (Russia's Far East) in early July, a spokesman for the fleet said Thursday.

The source said visiting warships would be the USS Curtis Wilber, a destroyer, and two minesweepers, the USS Patriot and USS Guardian. The Pacific Fleet's anti-submarine warships Admiral Vinogradov, Marshal Shaposhnikov, and Admiral Panteleyev, will act as the host vessels.

The Americans will take part in the celebrations of the 145th anniversary of the foundation of Vladivostok, which coincides with American Independence Day. The official American delegation will also meet with the Pacific Fleet commanders and the head of the municipal administration and will lay a wreath at the eternal flame of the Pacific Fleet's war memorial.

A joint Russian-American exercise will be held at the end of the visit, the source said.
