MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti) - The U.S. rescue vessel Scorpion will help free the trapped Russian submersible on the Pacific seabed, an assistant to the Russian Navy's commander said.
Russian Navy Senior Spokesman Igor Dygalo said a second round of talks between U.S. and Russian officials concluded that a U.S. plane would deliver the unmanned Scorpion vessel from the U.S. base in San Diego to help rescue Russia's AS-18 submersible.
He also said a British warplane would deliver additional rescue gear to Kamchatka on Saturday.
"The British have responded and will send a plane with additional rescue gear to the rescue operation area tomorrow," Dygalo said.
He said three more vessels would arrive from Japan in three days.
