MOSCOW, August 25 (RIA Novosti) - Platon Lebedev, the head of the Menatep financial group imprisoned after the Yukos trial, has confirmed his refusal to file an appeal, his lawyer said Thursday.
Konstantin Rivkin, Lebedev's attorney, quoted his client as saying: "I am well aware that I will not be allowed to defend myself against false accusations and the inevitably unjust sentence in the appeals department of the Moscow City Court. This is why I decided to give up on a reversal of judgment and made a statement to that effect in June."
Lebedev also said the Meshchansky Court had not fully informed him about the court protocol but only provided him with "a deficient, abridged, unattested version falsified by the court."
