MOSCOW, December 8 (RIA Novosti) - Russian nuclear power plants (NPP) increased their power output in January-November 2005 by 3.8% year-on-year to more than 133.5 billion kwh, a statement from state-owned nuclear power generating company Rosenergoatom said Thursday.
"The background radiation at nuclear power plants and surrounding areas complies with energy units usage regulations and do not exceed environmental figures," the statement said.
In all, Russia operates 31 energy units at 10 nuclear power plants.
