KUALA-LUMPUR, December 13 (RIA Novosti) - Russia recognizes and respects the efforts of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to create a nuclear free zone in Southeast Asia, Russian and Asean leaders said in a joint declaration on partnership adopted at the first Russian-Asean summit Monday.
According to the declaration, Russia considers these efforts an important element of strengthening regional security and a considerable contribution to the establishment of such zones worldwide.
