MOSCOW, December 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russian and Ukrainian Prime Ministers Mikhail Fradkov and Yuriy Yekhanurov have failed to agree on the conditions of Russian natural gas supplies to and transit via Ukraine, a source in the Russian delegation said Monday.
"No agreement has been reached," the source said adding that Ukraine had shown better understanding of the necessity to transfer to market prices of natural gas transit and supplies.
"They are not arguing with this, but they do not yet appreciate that it should be done immediately," he said.
The prime ministers did not discuss specific natural gas prices. The source said this is an issue for the state companies involved, Russian energy giant Gazprom and Ukrainian national gas company Nafotgaz Ukrainy.
