WARSAW, December 29 (RIA Novosti) - A 21-year-old man accused of attacking Russian diplomats' children in Warsaw in summer 2005 has been arrested.

The court has sanctioned the arrest of the suspect, identified only as Philipp A., police spokesman Mariusz Sokolowski told journalists Tuesday.

On July 31, 10-15 Polish-speaking teenagers beat up Russian children, Artem Konovalov, Kirill Levin and Aleksei Kudryavtsev in a park on Idzikowski St. in southern Warsaw.

The attack was viewed as a result of the anti-Russian campaign in the Polish media that may have been fuelled by some of the country's politicians.

At the time of the attack, the Russian Embassy in Warsaw sent a note of protest to the Polish Foreign Ministry and the Polish Ambassador to Poland was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. Poland expressed regret over the incident.
