MOSCOW, January 23 (RIA Novosti) - About 12,000 people in the town of Podolsk near Moscow were left without heating Monday following a burst in the water pipeline earlier in the day, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.
"The pipe burst occurred at 9:45a.m. Moscow time [6:45 a.m. GMT]," the ministry said. "Heating was cut off in 26 nine-storey residential buildings, a kindergarten, and a school."
Five repair crews have been sent to repair the problem.
