PARIS, April 24 (RIA Novosti) - The short films jury at this year's Cannes Film Festival will be presided over by one of Russia's top movie-makers, festival organizers said Monday.
Andrei Konchalovsky will head an international panel to judge shorts in competition at the 59th running of the festival. The ten-day forum kicks off May 17.
Konchalovsky was a member of the Cannes feature films jury in 1978, and three of his films have been nominated for the festival's prestigious Palme d'Or award - Runaway Train (1986), Shy People (1987) and Kurochka Ryaba (1994).
