Russian cargo spacecraft to dock with ISS Wednesday evening

The unmanned Progress M-56 cargo ship will deliver 2.6 metric tons of equipment, fuel, oxygen, water, food, and also Easter gifts to the 13th crew of the International Space Station, the official said.

MOSCOW, April 26 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian cargo ship launched from the Baikonur space center Monday is expected to dock automatically with the world's sole civilian space station Wednesday evening, a Mission Control official said.

The unmanned Progress M-56 cargo ship will deliver 2.6 metric tons of equipment, fuel, oxygen, water, food, and also Easter gifts to the 13th crew of the International Space Station, the official said.

"The docking operation is scheduled for 9:54 p.m. Moscow time (5:54 p.m. GMT) but could take place several minutes earlier, given a decision by the head of the Russian segment of the International Space Station," the official said.

Russian cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov and U.S. astronaut Jeffrey Williams began their mission on board the world's sole civilian orbital station on April 1.
