MOSCOW, May 2 (RIA Novosti) - Kalina Concern (RTS: KLNA) said its net profit by Russian accounting standards had fallen 8.7% in the first quarter year-on-year to 214.072 million rubles ($7.9 million).
Russia's perfume and cosmetics company said in its profit and loss account that sales had risen 16.72% to 1.925 billion rubles ($70.6 million).
Gross profit increased 9.29% to 932.043 million rubles ($34.2 million), and earnings climbed 14.39% to 480.766 million rubles ($17.6 million).
The company's leading brands include Chorny Zhemchyug, Chistaya Liniya, and MIA skincare products. The concern incorporates head office in Yekaterinburg in the Urals, a plant in Omsk in West Siberia, and subsidiaries Pallada-Ukraina, Novoplast (Yekaterinburg) and Kalina Overseas Holding B.V. (the Netherlands).
Kalina holds a controlling share in German cosmetics producer Dr.Scheller Cosmetics AG.
