MOSCOW, May 11 (RIA Novosti) - Customs functions, including the Federal Customs Service, will now be transferred from the economics ministry to the government, the Kremlin press service said Thursday.
Under a new presidential decree, the government will now decide on the appointment and dismissal of the service's director and his/her deputies.
The director of the customs service, which had been under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade for two years, is to make staff decisions within the service.
The president has instructed the government to work out and submit within a month a draft law on legislative amendments.
