KRASNOYARSK, May 12 (RIA Novosti) - Rosneft is considering construction of a petrochemical complex at the Komsomolsky oil refinery in Russia's Far East, the state-owned oil company's vice president said Friday.
"This is an ideal variant for producing products in high demand on foreign markets," said Stepan Zemlyuk.
He said the project aimed to intensify oil refinery and to produce products including propylene, ethylene and benzol, and added that the company also planned to increase the oil refinery's output from 6 million tons (120,493 bbl/d) of oil in 2005 to 7 million tons (140,575 bbl/d) in 2007.
The Komsomolsky oil refinery was built in 1942 to refine oil produced in Sakhalin and East Siberia.
