BRUSSELS, May 23 (RIA Novosti)-Senior diplomats from the six countries attempting to negotiate a solution to the crisis around Iran's controversial nuclear programs will meet in London Tuesday, Russia's ambassador to the European Union said.

Vladimir Chizhov said the representatives of Russia, China, the United States and the EU3 - the United Kingdom, France and Germany - would meet after their original meeting was postponed from May 19.

Chizhov said Russia remained in favor of finding a diplomatic solution to the dispute around Tehran's programs, which Iran's authorities have insisted are for peaceful purposes but other nations suspect are a cover for bomb-making.

"We [Russia] are utterly convinced that any attempts to resolve the situation by force will only complicate the problem," the ambassador said.

The meeting earlier in the month was put back to give the Europeans more time to polish their proposals.

The EU was then considering offering Tehran incentives - thought to be in the form of a light-water reactor - to re-impose a moratorium on its nuclear programs. Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, dismissed the idea, saying that it would be like exchanging gold for "walnuts and chocolate."

Chizov said the negotiating nations' common goal was to prevent any violation of the nonproliferation regime. "This is priority no.1, everything else is of secondary importance," he said.

Russia and China have consistently opposed military action against Tehran, but senior officials in the U.S. have refused to do so.
