- The company would raise the issue of Russian gas transit to European consumers via Ukraine at the 23rd World Gas Conference

- Ukraine may experience another shortage of natural gas this coming winter as gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy had not been pumping sufficient volumes of gas into its underground storage facilities

* Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said inflation in Russia stood at 0.5% in May and 5.9% in the first five months of 2006, representing a 1.4% decline on the same period last year

* About 1,700 editors and publishers of leading periodicals and top media managers from 104 countries gathered in Moscow for a three-day world press summit

* Russian Ambassador-at-Large Valery Kenyaikin said talks between Russian and Ukrainian diplomats on demarcating the long-disputed border between the countries, running through the Azov and Black Seas and the Kerch Strait had stalled
