MOSCOW, June 7 (RIA Novosti) - Aeroflot (RTS: AFLT), Russia's national air carrier, said Wednesday its 2005 net profit calculated according to International Accounting Standards had grown 10.3% year-on-year to $189.8 million.
Aeroflot's 2005 revenues increased by $380.8 million or 17.64% to $2.54 billion, while operating expenses grew $337.5 million or 17.22 % to $2.3 billion, the company said in a press release.
In 2005, the company's operating profit totaled $242.1 million, a 21.8% increase year-on-year, and gross profit increased 20.6% year-on-year to $278.8 million.
Russia's Transportation Ministry said on May 16 it supported a bid made by Aeroflot to increase its share of the Russian air-transportation market to 50% from the current 30%.
