MOSCOW, June 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's prime minister Wednesday denied rumors that Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref could be about to resign.
Mikhail Fradkov hailed a report delivered by Gref at a government session on Russia's economic development, and said it was a reply to rumors about the minister's resignation.
"I think ... that the report is objective and deep, which allows us to hope for the formation of an active policy," he said.
Fradkov was upbeat about the work of Gref's ministry, saying it was "moving in the right direction, without trying to hold onto functions that can be fulfilled in other departments."
