NAZRAN, North Caucasus, June 9 (RIA Novosti) - Three law-enforcement officers and three children have been killed by gunmen in the troubled North Caucasus region of Ingushetia, a source in the local Interior Ministry said Friday.
The source said the three officers included Musa Nalgiyev, the head of the regional OMON special police force.
In a separate incident, another group of gunmen Friday morning attacked a car carrying the head of Ingushetia's Sunzha district, which borders on Chechnya.
Galina Gubina died later in the hospital from gunshot wounds.
Law-enforcement officers are currently searching for the perpetrators of both attacks and the prosecutor's office has launched criminal investigations.
