MOSCOW, June 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's federal budget surplus in 2007 is expected to reach 1.35 trillion rubles ($50 billion), according to a finance ministry draft plan for 2007-2009 approved by the government Friday.
The ministry forecast budget revenue in 2007 at 6.61 trln rubles ($245 bln), and spending at 5.26 trln rubles ($195 bln).
A total of 721.6 bln rubles ($26.7 bln) will be allocated for defense, 600 bln rubles ($22.2 bln) for national security and law enforcement, 248.9 bln rubles ($9.2 bln) for education, 179.8 bln rubles ($6.7 bln) for healthcare and sports, and 249 billion rubles ($9.2 bln) for social programs.
The ministry posted its forecast for 2008 budget at 6.86 trillion rubles ($254 bln) in revenue and 5.74 trillion rubles ($212 bln) in spending, with the corresponding figures for 2009 at 7.23 trln rubles ($267 bln) and 6.29 trln rubles ($233 bln), respectively.
