MOSCOW, June 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and India have discussed military-technical cooperation in the naval sphere, a Russian Navy spokesperson said Monday.
An Indian military delegation headed by the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Arun Prakash is currently on an official visit to Russia until June 25.
The two countries have traditionally close naval ties. Russia sold its Admiral Gorshkov Kiev-class aircraft carrier to India in January 2004 for $1.5 billion and is fulfilling several contracts on its modernization. The Indian Navy also deploys 10 Russian-made Kilo-class diesel-powered attack submarines.
Russia and India have also jointly developed the supersonic Brahmos anti-ship cruise missile.
