LONDON, June 21 (RIA Novosti) - An annual two-day summit of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce opens in London Wednesday.

The organizers of Business Summit 2006 said the event would start with an evening gala reception for sponsors, participants and guests of the business summit hosted by RBCC President Tim Eggar in the Royal Courts of Justice.

The chamber, which was established in 1916, comprises about 500 companies and organizations from both countries and is funded by its members.

The summit itself will open June 22 and will hear reports from President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Jean Lemierre, Vice President of leading Russian consumer services firm AFK Sistema [LSE: SSA] Sergei Cheremin and Deputy Russian Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov.

Then the conference will be divided into three seminars: an annual investment review, investment in the Urals Federal District, and energy security, which has been declared Russia's priority during its current presidency in the Group of Eight industrial nations.

Lord Eddie George, a former head of the Bank of England, has been invited to speak on the third subject.

Investors and experts will review last year's investment in Russia and consider Russian companies' initial public offerings on foreign bourses as a new way of raising funds.

Russia's biggest new IPO this year is expected to come from state-owned oil company Rosneft, which plans to float its shares in London and in Russia in July.
