The lower house of Russia's parliament will draft a declaration on the execution of four Russian diplomats in Iraq, the Duma's first deputy speaker said Tuesday.

MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) - The lower house of Russia's parliament will draft a declaration on the execution of four Russian diplomats in Iraq, the Duma's first deputy speaker said Tuesday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed Monday that four Russian diplomats kidnapped June 3 in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, had been killed by an Islamic extremist group with links to al-Qaeda.

"Tomorrow we propose to adopt a tough statement in relation to the situation with our diplomats in Iraq," Lyubov Sliska said.

Russian diplomat Vitaly Titov was killed during the attack June 3 on an embassy car in the capital of Iraq. The kidnappers seized Fyodor Zaitsev, third secretary of the embassy, and also diplomats Rinat Agliulin, Anatoly Smirnov and Oleg Fedoseyev.

Sliska said international coalition forces in Iraq were responsible for the deaths of the Russian diplomats.

"The entire responsibility for what has happened to the diplomats lies on those who looked for weapons of mass destruction there. Innocent people are being killed in large numbers. This has to be answered," Sliska said.
