MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's foreign minister Tuesday urged U.S.-led coalition forces in Iraq to improve security levels in the country, including for foreigners working there.

Following the execution of four Russian diplomats by an al-Qaeda-linked extremist group, Sergei Lavrov said, "Security in Iraq should be ensured by both the government of this country... and the U.S.-led coalition forces there."

The minister said forces must improve the situation, "to help Iraqis build peaceful lives after this bloody and still ongoing war."

Russia has repeatedly pushed for measures to be taken to improve the security of its citizens and diplomats in Iraq, Lavrov said.

"We will continue to press for this problem to be solved," he added.
