"By order of the prosecutor general, the Main Department for Rule-of-Law Oversight and the Main Department for International Law have been created," the Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement. "In addition, the Department for Information and Public Relations will undergo serious organizational reforms."
The Office also said it has set up a new department tasked with fighting corruption in the government and the country.
"For the first time in the General Prosecutor's Office ... an independent section for oversight of legislation on state and municipal service has been formed, and will focus on combating corruption," the Office said.
On Tuesday, Moscow City Prosecutor Anatoly Zuyev and all 13 deputy prosecutor generals submitted their resignations at Chaika's request. Zuyev's resignation has been accepted and half of deputies might go too, an anonymous source in the office said.
