MOSCOW, June 29 (RIA Novosti) - Foreign ministers from the G8 said Thursday they expected Tehran to respond to proposals on halting uranium enrichment at a meeting July 5 between the EU foreign policy supremo and Iran's top nuclear negotiator.
The ministers from the group of leading industrialized nations said in a statement following talks in Moscow that they were disappointed that Iran had given no official reaction to the proposals, which they described as positive, and that they expected Ali Larijani to respond during his meeting with Javier Solana.
Solana handed these proposals to Iran during his visit to the Islamic Republic June 6. The proposals cover three spheres: the nuclear program, trade and economic with Tehran, and security guarantees.
