MOSCOW, July 3 (RIA Novosti) - Inflation in Russia in the first half of 2006 stood at 6.2% in first half of 2005, a deputy prime minister said Monday.
Alexander Zhukov said the rate in the same period last year was 8% and added that the inflation in Russia for 2006 would remain within 10%.
The government initially planned to contain inflation at 8.5% in 2006, but later corrected the figure to 9%. Inflation was 10.9% in 2005.
