MOSCOW, July 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's radar network did not confirm the reports that North Korean missiles fell close to Russian borders, President Vladimir Putin said Thursday.

"Our national monitoring system does not confirm the information that these missiles fell near Russian borders," Putin said during a Web cast.

The communist nation launched several ballistic missiles, including a long-range Taepodong-2, late Tuesday despite a moratorium on missile tests. According to the Japanese military, all missiles fell in the northwestern part of the Sea of Japan closer to Russia than to Japan.

Putin said that the tests of the missiles made the situation around N. Korea's nuclear program even more complicated and he called for the issues of the vehicles and the program to be considered together.
