GUDERMES (Chechnya), July 8 (RIA Novosti) - Chechnya's prime minister said Saturday that all participants of the recent attack on a military convoy would be eliminated in the near future.
Six servicemen were killed and 15 received injuries when a Russian Defense Ministry column came under fire in southeastern Chechnya on July 4. This was one of the most brutal attacks on federal troops and police in the troubled North Caucasus republic in months.
Ramzan Kadyrov said Chechen law enforcement had established the identities of field commanders and participants of the attack and pledged that all of them would be hunted down and eliminated soon.
"I have no doubt that all those involved in this terrorist act would be soon eliminated," Kadyrov told a news conference after 30 militants had surrendered to Chechen authorities earlier on Saturday.
