MOSCOW, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin congratulated railway workers and veterans with their professional holiday, the presidential press office said Sunday.
"The condition and the effective development of railway transport have always been among the government's priority issues," Putin said in his congratulatory letter. "The technical condition of railways and their proper operation are crucial for the timely delivery of passengers and cargoes, the strengthening of inter-regional and international ties and, as a whole, for the sustainable recovery of the country's economy," Putin said.
Putin said the railway sector was dynamically developing and successfully implementing large-scale infrastructure projects.
