MOSCOW, August 7 (RIA Novosti) - Consumer prices rose 0.7% in July and 6.9% in January-July 2006, Russia's top statistics body said Monday.
The State Statistics Service said consumer price inflation stood at 0.5% in July 2005 and 8.5% in January-July 2005.
The prices of goods went up 0.7% and the prices of paid services provided to the public rose 0.6% in July 2006. In particular, food prices grew 0.9% (0.7% excluding vegetable and fruit prices) and non-food prices rose 0.4%.
