KRASNOYARSK, August 10 (RIA Novosti) - Almost 65,000 people in central Siberia were left without electricity Thursday morning after a major grid failure, emergency services said.
Two high-voltage power lines broke near a construction facility in Nazarovo in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an official from the local department of the Emergency Situations Ministry.
He added that no one had been hurt in the accident, though the 63,700 people in Nazarovo, where the temperature is fortunately hovering around 20 degrees Celsius (68F) before the onset of winter, have been left without power.
The ministry's Siberian regional center is dealing with the accident and hospitals, kindergartens and water facilities are being connected to local power sources.
