MOSCOW, August 22 (RIA Novosti) - Power consumption in Russia in the first half of 2006 rose 4.5%, year-on-year, the financial director of the country's electricity monopoly, Unified Energy System, said Tuesday.
"In the first half [of 2006], domestic electricity consumption increased by 4.5%, although growth had been forecast at 3%," Sergei Dubinin said.
He added that power consumption in Moscow grew 6%, year-on-year, in the reporting period.
